The Ottawa Convention Centre (OCC) retained GBA
as its Development Manager and Advisor for its approximately 400,000
sq ft, $159 million re-development project. GBA is leading the Project
Management Team through all phases of the redevelopment including
funding approvals, business planning, competitive RFP management plans
for the project, required design approvals from government agencies
and compliance monitoring, and communications.
GBA Leadership:
GBA shaped the concept that provided the OCC an opportunity to demolish
the existing facility and redevelop on the newly expanded site. GBA
also:
- Managed the legal, financial/business teams in the drafting of
a Plan of Redevelopment and Feasibility Study identifying the path
to success for the redevelopment of the OCC
- Managed the technical project teams, including the architects,
engineers and specialty consultants, to create a Functional Program,
Output Specifications and Illustrative Concept Design
- Proposed and procured for our client, a long-term facilities management
contract with the global leader in the convention industry.
- Managed the procurement processto select a preferred partner
to demolish/design/build and short-term finance the redevelopment
project
- Managed the drafting and execution of legal and funding agreements
among OCC, PCL and various stakeholders
- Currently Represents the OCC before the City of Ottawa and National
Capital Commission as well as the Federal, Provincial and Municipal
funding partners.
- Manages implements the OCC’s redevelopment project strategic
communication plan
- Manages and co-ordinates the redevelopment in terms of technical
requirements, budget and schedule through to commissioning and operation
